Like the Serenity reference.

On another note, I would so like to see this and DC animated sometime in the future.
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:17 AM edit delete reply

Antonious 6th Nov 2014, 11:33 PM edit delete reply

I keep buying lottery tickets. Maybe if one of them would just pay off well enough, I would cover the ride
mjkj 10th Nov 2014, 4:04 PM edit delete reply

I would - if I had the money...
Vivocateur 6th Nov 2014, 12:03 AM edit delete reply

This page is replete with sci-fi references :D
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:18 AM edit delete reply

jamie59 6th Nov 2014, 12:05 AM edit delete reply

Well she's survived vacumm before.
She a Firefly fan too?
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:18 AM edit delete reply

given her love of media - movies and books she probably has.
Stormwind13 6th Nov 2014, 12:05 AM edit delete reply

Galina looks really good here. Great job CentComm.

And a great job by you too, Rose. The references and general conversation were outstanding. :-)
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:19 AM edit delete reply

Stormwind13 6th Nov 2014, 6:35 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:20 AM edit delete reply

Haegan2005 6th Nov 2014, 1:39 AM edit delete reply

The story is progressing nicely!

Are these free hallways or did you make them? They look really dang awesome!
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:20 AM edit delete reply

They are from a "starship corridor set " basicly a generic bunch of pieces.. :D and thanks :D
Dragonrider 6th Nov 2014, 1:45 AM edit delete reply

We hope that our Protagonist is a better negotiator that others we know she can survive vacuum in small doses I still think she should have let the Captain take the anti gun block off.

In answer to your question on the last page:
A. The woman is always right!
B. God Forbid the woman is ever wrong; Apologize profusely and immediately, purchase her an expensive present along with a pound of Godiva Chocolates. While she is occupied fix the damn problem, apologize again by saying you were right dear it is fixed just like you said it would be. Then report to the doghouse for confinement.
anonymous coward 6th Nov 2014, 2:57 AM edit delete reply
This is ridiculous. If a woman's mood is *really* that fragile around you that she can't handle 'being wrong' then either you're a horrible jerk about her being wrong or there's something else wrong that's worse than the current situation. Either way, one or both of you have screwed up severely on communication at some point.
Dragonrider 6th Nov 2014, 12:05 PM edit delete reply

My Dear anonymous coward ;
Thank you for your incisive, analytical, insightful analyses of my totally off the wall tongue in cheek answer. I do hope you are not employed by one of the Psychic Hotlines, your prospects for long term employment are not bright.

Have a nice day.

PS Why no profile?
anonymous coward 6th Nov 2014, 3:01 AM edit delete reply
Now, for the specific situation-question that was asked, I'd start talking through her plan because few plans invented in seconds are brilliant masterpieces without flaws, risks or difficulties.
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 3:22 AM edit delete reply

She has a very good reason for NOT removing it.. :D and shes a LOT more durable than a human on that note .. but it STILL hurts.. and will damage her optics and other parts of her.. but it likely wont kill her as quickly as a human.
Tokyo Rose 6th Nov 2014, 6:59 PM edit delete reply

Removing the block would have taken more time than they really had available--and Gali still wouldn't know how to use a gun. :D
Stormwind13 6th Nov 2014, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

Wouldn't know how to EFFECTIVELY use a gun, Rose. Galina is intelligent enough, I'm sure she could understand, point and shoot. :-D
Tokyo Rose 7th Nov 2014, 6:20 AM edit delete reply

*click*
Taylor: "Safety's still on."
Gali: "FUDGESICLES."
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 7:00 AM edit delete reply

exactly .. :D
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 7:04 AM edit delete reply

And then Galina would be all like "Which one is the safety +"
And then she'd release the magazine. :D

On a sidenote on the "the women is always right", it does hold some truth to it - In the sense that a lot of women are incredibly emotionally sensitive and/or pampered. So in their worldview, they can do no wrong.

That is ofcourse a fault on their side, but it often end up "being the mans fault" and thus his problem to fix.

Unfortunately, the society at large sides with the woman.
Abuse is a two way street, but men and women handle it very differently.
Stormwind13 7th Nov 2014, 9:24 AM edit delete reply

Some guns, Sheela, if the safety is on you can't eject the magazine. Keeps it from losing the magazine when you are carrying it around.
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 9:37 AM edit delete reply

I know, but not all guns.
Hornet 7th Nov 2014, 3:45 PM edit delete reply
Lol, it takes all of 30 seconds to show a child how to use a fire arm including the safety, one of the biggest problems with firearms is the ease of use. Now getting someone to hit what they're aiming at and treat one the way it deserves to be treated those can be difficult.
Stormwind13 7th Nov 2014, 8:38 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, but not really the time to be trying to learn when confronting a combat cyborg, Hornet. Galina's best attribute is her mind. She is better off trying to outwit Colonel Taylor than trying to out-shoot him. :-D
Timotheus 8th Nov 2014, 5:27 AM edit delete reply

Durn modern firearms. That's why I still like my Colt Navy. Loading it's a tad involved but it's easy to shoot once the caps are seated.
mjkj 6th Nov 2014, 5:16 AM edit delete reply

*hugs Gali*

I hope she will make it...

cattservant 6th Nov 2014, 6:12 AM edit delete reply

It's a gas!
DizzasterJuice 6th Nov 2014, 12:53 PM edit delete reply

Colonel dickhead punches Gali.
Gali: "Owe my eye!"
Jet: "Venting airlock"
Gali: "What??"
Jet: "Oh I thought you said Firefly"
Centcomm 6th Nov 2014, 5:55 PM edit delete reply

yes but if he did that Gali would get vented too.. :P more likely he would send Edict and himself to save her .. >_<
Stormwind13 6th Nov 2014, 6:36 PM edit delete reply

Dizzaster... That is TERRIBLE.

Funny, but hopefully won't happen to poor Galina. She has already done her time in hard vacuum, no need for a repeat.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 7:01 AM edit delete reply

she had a lot longer than she thought . but it still would have killed her from boiling off her vital fluids .,.. it just takes longer with her.
CyberSkull 8th Nov 2014, 10:57 AM edit delete reply

I see her plan F. She can survive vacuum for a few minutes longer than anyone else on the ship (save probably the Captain and Taylor though).
