Murderous impulses are only a symptom if they are misplaced.
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:52 AM edit delete reply

thats right :D
jamie59 22nd May 2014, 12:08 AM edit delete reply

So as the Luna-Star gets closer on it's voyage the danger to the crew will increase. From the crew itself.
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:52 AM edit delete reply

very possable :D
Hornet 22nd May 2014, 9:21 AM edit delete reply
Haha! I foresee a Hal instance coming up.
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 9:26 PM edit delete reply

LOL - i dont think there is a homicidal computer on here :D
Stormwind13 23rd May 2014, 5:14 PM edit delete reply

But does a homicidal cyborg count, CentComm? :-D
cattservant 22nd May 2014, 12:27 AM edit delete reply

The subject was roses...
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:53 AM edit delete reply

lol roses eh?
mjkj 23rd May 2014, 7:18 AM edit delete reply

Roses? wait you are telling me there are more than one??? :o *blinks*
Stormwind13 23rd May 2014, 5:15 PM edit delete reply

Yes, mjkj. Rose has constructs of herself EVERYWHERE. She can be in several dozen places at once. Now aren't you glad you know that? :-D

"This mission is Charlie-Foxtrot"

Best. Line. Ever

Chances are the majority aren't going to get that though I think >.>
DizzasterJuice 22nd May 2014, 1:02 AM edit delete reply

A cluster f**k?

hey...
hey...

Quit interrupting Edgewick!
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:53 AM edit delete reply

I know right :D
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:53 AM edit delete reply

that line was all rose :D
Stormwind13 22nd May 2014, 7:09 AM edit delete reply

You might be surprised by this crowd Raicon.

I love the Captain's comment, "You are fine" in response to Colonel's Taylor's "Only towards my superiors." I mean ALL officers stuck on the sharp end of the stick have felt that way. :-D

Great job Rose. :-)
plymayer 22nd May 2014, 12:57 AM edit delete reply

About normal for the begining of any mission I was ever on.

Except for the easy ones. Had to watch out for them. They were ALWAYS a cluster.
Fairportfan 22nd May 2014, 1:34 AM edit delete reply

"No battle plan ever survives first contact with the real enemy."

"I absolutely detest mission briefs that include the words 'should' and 'ought to'."
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:54 AM edit delete reply

yep its always the "milk runs" that are the worst :D
Sheela 24th May 2014, 7:21 AM edit delete reply

It's all about having the right bait for the situation.

.. and then do the unexpected!
JacobJSebastian 22nd May 2014, 1:54 AM edit delete reply

You know, it's scenes like this that remind me of Joss Whedon's writing. (that is a HIGH complement) Anyone else see the comparison?
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 2:54 AM edit delete reply

thank ya but im gonna toss that credit to Rose :D
Timotheus 22nd May 2014, 3:45 AM edit delete reply
A friend of mine said he had a CO who always broke his mission plans into "What we know", "What we think", and "What we hope". He said they were the most rational plans he was ever involved in.
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

thats not a bad idea at all :D
Sheela 23rd May 2014, 12:05 PM edit delete reply

Might add a "What we intend to do" as well.
Stormwind13 23rd May 2014, 11:50 PM edit delete reply

It's the military, Sheela. That means they are there to kick a$$ and chew bubble gum... and the requisition for bubble gum hasn't be filled. :-)
Sheela 24th May 2014, 4:04 AM edit delete reply

Like hell it hasn't, it was delivered and signed in triple multiplicates ! >:(
Stormwind13 24th May 2014, 3:57 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, by some REMF supply officer who then sold it on the black market. The combat troops NEVER get any of the bubble gum. It makes them MEANER! :-D
Sheela 24th May 2014, 5:50 PM edit delete reply

Unfortunately for the REMF, I work the black market too, and I have a spy camera with some lovely pictures of him on it.

I just sold the info to a lovely gentleman named Mr Sutherland, who said he knew just where to deliver the 5 crates of bubblegum he just bought from me - He was muttering something about "the hair matching the gum". :)
mjkj 22nd May 2014, 3:57 AM edit delete reply

Awww...

Gali does not want to be separated from her family... *hugs Gali*

Oh, Colonel Taylor has a sense of humor - I like that :D

Mister Black 22nd May 2014, 12:46 PM edit delete reply

By the time you're wearing colonel's insignia, you've developed
a) A sense of humor.
b) A drinking problem.
c) Both of the above.
Dragonrider 22nd May 2014, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

d) Are a serious REMF
e) A complete pain in the arse
f) Only worrying about getting posted to the War College-a Teaching position at The Point or to The Puzzle Palace all guaranteed to short list you for Brigadier, qualified or not.
Mister Black 23rd May 2014, 5:16 AM edit delete reply

No experience (even second-hand) with REMFs or people worried about the Puzzle Palace...I'm the son and grandson of E-7s and the nephew of a CBM (who wasn't named Higgs). I was just extrapolating upwards from what they told me. :-D
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

yeah hes actually not a bad guy.. :D
Sheela 23rd May 2014, 12:06 PM edit delete reply

If push comes to shove, and you're *really* unlucky, you can end up as the Quarter Master!

.. and boy will you be buggered then.
Dragonrider 22nd May 2014, 8:33 AM edit delete reply

Mission Is Charlie Foxtrot? Dude you ain't seen nothing yet. Still thing FUBAR expresses it much better than Charlie Foxtrot.
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

LOL - that comes later :D
Sheela 23rd May 2014, 12:08 PM edit delete reply

A mission hasn't gone FUBAR until someone handed in a ID10T formular, and thought he was doing a good thing.
CyberSkull 22nd May 2014, 10:55 AM edit delete reply

Be very suspicious of a boss you don't want to murder…
Centcomm 22nd May 2014, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

oh?
Mister Black 23rd May 2014, 5:19 AM edit delete reply

If your boss isn't pushing you to the point of occasionally making homicide a viable alternative, it's usually for one of three reasons:
1) They don't think you're capable of handling the load. (Bad for you).
2) They don't think you're motivated to do the extra work even if you can. (Bad for you)
3) They don't know how to delegate. (Bad for them, and thus, indirectly bad for you).
Sheela 23rd May 2014, 12:10 PM edit delete reply

Alternatively, you're posted in an area way back behind the lines, which means they don't have enough boots on the ground up front, which means things are about to get real bad for you, once the front collapses.
Centcomm 23rd May 2014, 12:12 PM edit delete reply

good info there :D
Stormwind13 23rd May 2014, 5:24 PM edit delete reply

Actually Mr. Black I had ONE boss that I never wanted to kill. He told me what he wanted done, I did it. We got along great. So astonishingly rare though.

CyberSkull 24th May 2014, 2:52 AM edit delete reply

That would be the exception.
